Countess of Warwick’s Show 2011

Every year, P & A Wood are involved with a local country show held just 2 miles away from our workshops and showroom in Little Easton. This year was no exception and as the main sponsors for the event we did our best show our support.

We took a display of cars, including a 1912 London to Edinburgh Silver Ghost, a 1904 Stanley Steam car, a 1912 Baker Electric car and many others. We also ran our 1919 Le Rhone Rotary engine each day in the arena, opened and closed the show with flypasts from our Gipsy Moth and Andrew Wood’s Cessna 195, gave rides in a 1914 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost and, by comparison, a 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost and organised a classic car show.

We would like to thank Captain Stewart Luck, for flying the planes, Bernard Holmes and John Banner for bringing their veteran cars to display alongside Georgina Wood’s 1903 De Dion Bouton and Ben Portus’ (Paul’s son-in-law) 1903 Oldsmobile and all those that helped out, took a ride in the cars, and showed their support. Many thanks.

It was a hectic couple of days that we thoroughly enjoyed in support of our fantastic local country show.
